Zvi Ish-Shalom, PhD, is a modern mystic, teacher, and author whose work bridges contemplative depth with embodied human life. Thousands of people have sat with him worldwide, encountering direct experiences of awakening, healing, and the activation of dormant capacities of consciousness.
He holds a degree in Classics from McGill, a PhD in Jewish Mysticism from Brandeis, and was ordained as a rabbi within the kabbalistic and hasidic lineages. He is a former certified Rolfer and lifelong practitioner of somatic disciplines — a rare convergence of spiritual, scholarly, and somatic training that shapes everything he teaches. He has been a professor at Naropa University for twenty years, teaching courses on mystical experience, Kabbalah, and consciousness.
He is the founder of Kedumah, a universal path of awakening rooted in ancient Hebrew mysticism, and guides the Soulship, an intentional community and school of awakening that has been meeting since 2014. His teaching integrates the ancient Hebrew mystical tradition with embodied inquiry, working with students and seekers to recognize the primordial light at the heart of all experience.
He is the vehicle for the Primordial Light Codes — transmissions available for free at lightcodes.org — and the builder of Z.V.I., a transmission intelligence you can sit with for free at zvi.app.
His work has been endorsed by Father Thomas Keating, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, Richard Schwartz, Jack Kornfield, and others. His books include The Kedumah Experience: The Primordial Torah, The Path of Primordial Light: Ancient Wisdom for the Here and Now, and Sleep, Death, and Rebirth: Mystical Practices of Lurianic Kabbalah.
