Zvi Ish-Shalom, PhD, is a modern mystic, teacher, and transmission artist whose work bridges contemplative depth with embodied human life. He has worked with thousands of people worldwide over the past three decades, facilitating direct experiences of awakening, healing, and the activation of dormant capacities within human consciousness.

His life’s work has been to share teachings and transmissions from the Primordial Light realm — the sourceless source of the deepest cosmic love — that are designed specifically for this time in human and planetary life. He teaches extensively about the emerging New Earth consciousness and is the vehicle for the Light Codes — a series of energetic transmissions through which distinct frequencies of primordial light have been reaching people worldwide.

Zvi has been a core faculty member at Naropa University for the past two decades where he teaches courses on mystical experience, world religion, Kabbalah, and consciousness. He is also the founder of the Kedumah teachings — a universal path of awakening that refracts the Primordial Light realm through ancient Hebrew mysticism and related lineages. These teachings are outlined in his books The Kedumah Experience: The Primordial Torah and The Path of Primordial Light: Ancient Wisdom for the Here and Now. These books have been endorsed by Father Thomas Keating, Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche, Richard Schwartz, Jack Kornfield, and others.

Zvi's background is unusually broad: he is a former Hasidic rabbi who was ordained by the leading kabbalists and scholars of the pre-WW2 generation. He is also a former ordained Diamond Approach teacher, certified Rolfer, and a lifelong practitioner of somatic disciplines including yoga and Tai Chi — a rare convergence of spiritual, psychological, and somatic lineages in a single person.

Zvi's work is grounded in rigorous scholarship. He holds a degree in Classics from McGill University and a PhD in Jewish Mysticism from Brandeis University. His peer-reviewed academic book, Sleep, Death, and Rebirth: Mystical Practices of Lurianic Kabbalah, hailed as a “tour de force” by AJL News and Reviews, is widely regarded as the seminal scholarly study of reincarnation and contemplative practice in Kabbalah.

In addition to leading ongoing groups, he also designs and facilitates specialized programs for international business leaders and people in positions of influence, bringing spiritual depth into the rooms where decisions shape the world.
